Skogsröjet 2015

Skogsröjet is one of the nicest festivals I have been to. Good atmosphere and excellent music.

Crucified Barbara were good. They seem to be playing at every festival I go to this year. Next up were the old british band AM. Good AOR music. Electric Boys did an excellent show and it was fun to see them again. Magnum did a good show with some good songs. Europe finished off the first night with a good show. The new songs off thier latest album sound very nice.

The second day started with the band Fearless, wannabe American hillibillies. The music is so and so but their singer ruins it for me.
Next band were the big surprise of the festival for me. Bloodbound and their dynamic powermetal. Very good show.

UDO were up next and did a good show. I have seen him do better shows and I missed songs from some of his albums. He should skip the Accept songs and just play UDO songs.
Dream Theater were up next but they are quite boring to me.

Queensryche were the best band of the festival. So good with their new singer. Good song selection and the new song sounded excellent also.

Last band were Saxon. They started out a bit slow. Maybe because of the cold. But after 30 minutes Saxon were rocking. Good show and setlist.

Väsby Rock Festival

This years Väsby Rock Festival got cut short due to me having to catch the Quireboys playing in Stockholm. Still some good bands and good music despite missing W.A.S.P. and Michael Schenker.

Astral Doors were very nice to see yet again and they almost played all the songs I wanted to hear. They deserve to be bigger than they are, such good music.

Väsby Rock Allstars started out quite bad and I thought it was going to be very bad. It got better than Johnny Lima did two good covers and it got excellent when Thomas Vickström performed three songs. So fun to hear his old song Free Like An Eagle (Talk of the town) from my youth. He is such a good singer. Cherie Currie of the Runaways did three good songs also before it was time for Tony Martin to do three Black Sabbat songs from his tenure with the band. The Shining sounded great but he got all of Väsby rocking with the Headless Cross.
The backing band were of shifting quality but Chris Laney and Nalle Påhlsson were both excellent.

Friday evening finished with Danger Danger which were fun to see after eleven years but I had to leave early so I could get home.

Saturday were cut short due to the Quireboys show the same evening but one band has to be mentioned and that were Work of Art. A bit similar to Toto and quite energetic on stage. Good show.

Alice Cooper at Gröna Lund and Furuvik

Not many times I get to see a band two days in a row. But Alice Cooper played first at Gröna Lund in Stockholm and then at Furuvik in Gävle. So a good time would be had.

Gröna Lund is a good place but unfortunately one has to come early to be certain of getting in and there is not many seated places there so one has to stand up a long time in there which is kind of hard. But Alice Cooper were good. Not the best I have seen him but I cannot complain.

The following day Alice Cooper played at Furuvik entertainment park in Gävle. This is a very good concert place with a lot of green areas. The Alice Cooper show were the same as the day before with the same setlist but that didn't matter as it was yet another good concert.

Sweden Rock Festival day 4

Day four of Sweden Rock Festival 2015 started a bit later for me than usual. Blame it on age and the need for more sleep. So i arrived at the festival area just in time for Ace Frehley. Good show with solo stuff and some Kiss songs. Good backing band. Very nice show.

Next up were the thrash giants of the eighties for me, namely Nuclear Assualt. Their first show in Sweden since 1989. It has been 26 years and I hope it won't be 26 years until next show. At the beginning it was a bit weak sound and the seemed a bit unsure but at the end it was very good sound and the band was on fire. Very good show. They even dedicated
the song Buttfuck to Mörtley Crüe, don't think they and Vince Neil go well together...

Refuge consisting of the 1989 line up of Rage were fun to see. They only played early songs and were very good.

Extreme were Extreme. Don't like their music so it was a bit boring for me. The evening ended with Judas Priest and they were good. Or as good as they can be nowadays.

That was the end to a great festival. Will be back next year.

Sweden Rock Festival day 3

Day three of Sweden Rock Festival opened with southern rockers Molly Hatchet. They were missing guitarist Dave Hlubek but still they were good. rocking as usual. Third time I have seen them and it is sad that I cannot see them more often.
Next I wandered over to lie down and see Alestorm. Not that interesting and quite boring. Rock Goddess I saw two songs by and decent but nothing captivating.

Manfred Mann's Earth Band were a surprise. Good musicians and very good. Very good to sit back and just enjoy the music. Unfortunately I didn't have time to watch them to the end as I had to go to the Molly Hatchet signing. The members of Molly Hatchet were very nice to talk to.

Blackberry Smoke were good as usual. Good music and songs.
I saw Wolf last time at Sweden Rock and they were good but not excellent as the last time I saw them.  Missed a couple of songs I wished they should have played.

Backyard Babies sounded good the more punk they played but I am a bit disappointed in the, Have heard so much about them.

Unfortunately I were forced to listen to three songs by Mötley Crüe while waiting for some people. So bad and bad and bad. Good that they will retire.

Sween Rock Festival 2015 Day 2

Day 2 of Sweden Rock Festival 2015 started with a band that were very unusual. Namely Spike's Free House consisting of for example Spike from the Quireboys and Simon Kirke, drummer of Free and Bad Company. The concert were a tribute to the now retired Frankie Miller. There were also a homage to Andy Fraser who were supposed to be part of the line up but died in March. The sun were shining and all musicians on stage were having a blast and it sounded very good. Good mix of songs by Frankie Miller, Free and Bad Company songs. Very pleased to have seen this show.
After this I went and watched Fish Farewekk to childhood concert in which Fish performed the entire Marillion album "Misplaced Childhood". It was a nice concert. Lying on the green grass enjoying the music while the sun shone in my face.

Slash were up next on the Festival stage and it was good. It sounded better live than on his previous solo albums and Miles Kennedy did very good vocal performance. Very nice.

Airbourne never dissapoint as they are so full of energy and the singer is very crazy. This time he climbed up very high into the rafters of the Rock stage. He would die if he fell down. Good show.
I walked by Carl Palmers Legacy and it were quite boring. Musical masturbation.

I didn't have big expectations for Toto. I thought it would be boring AOR, but they were quite nice. And they also seemed to have fun on stage.

Exodus with their new/old singer Steve Souza were good. He is a much better singer than Rob Dukes. Nice to see them and I hope I can see them on a small stage soon. Unfortunately Exodus played at the same time as Egonaut, so no Egonaut for me.
Def Leppard did a greates hits set and they were much better now compared to last time that I saw them.

The last band of the evening were Michael Monroe. He were very energetic as usual but at this time it became quite cold and it were hard to enjoy the show. Next time I hope to see him in a small club.

Sweden Rock Festival 2015 day 1

Sweden Rock is one of the best festivals festivals in the world and is a pleasure to visit every year. This were my twelfth time there. Time goes fast when one is having fun.

The first band of day one were Hell. Always good to see and watch, They feel more real than black metal bands who feels like posers compared to Hell. Very good as usual. They ould not use their normal stage décors due to the strong wind. Very good.
Next band up were the rock'n'roll band the Quireboys. Good rock'n'roll from the beginning and they were a hit with the audience. Good to see them again.

Evergrey were very boring and I drifted away from that concert to see the end of Jon English. He is a decent performer and much better than Evergrey.

Last band of the day were DAD who played without their flamboyant bass player due to an accident a couple of days before. They were good but now the winds were so cold that I had to go back to the car and reast until the show ended unfortunately.
